Tony Ciaglia is a Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor, criminologist, acclaimed speaker, and writer. On July 23, 1992, his life as he knew it would change forever. He was involved in a horrific jet ski accident leaving him lifeless and in a deep coma for nearly 40 days. At this moment, he began the most challenging fight of his life. He struggled to regain all the basic functions that we take for granted daily – walking, talking, eating, and he was paralyzed on the right side of his body. After nearly a year in the rehabilitation hospital, Tony was able to regain most of his physical abilities, but the mental part of his recovery was just the beginning of a long uphill battle.
Having a fascination with serial crime, Tony began to study some of the world’s most terrifying killers. In 2006, Tony began corresponding with over 100 of the worst murderers of our generation. They shared with him their darkest secrets, and they opened up to him with information that even the authorities were never able to get. In 2012, Tony became the subject of a best-selling book called “The Serial Killer Whisperer” that was published by Simon & Schuster. It was at that moment that we knew Tony had a special gift.
For the past 15 years, Tony has specialized in analyzing serial crime and the killers that conducted these heinous acts. The information that he has amassed from in person visits, letter correspondence, and recorded phone calls is educational, frightening, and truly fascinating. He has utilized his findings to assist The National Foundation For Missing and Exploited Children, and he continues to assist some law enforcement groups in an effort to solve cold cases to provide closure for the families of the victims.
Tony was featured on The Doctors Television Show, and he has appeared on several radio and television interviews. He has lived with a Traumatic Brain Injury for the past 30 years. Despite it being the most challenging part of his life, he has dedicated himself to helping others. Through his public speaking engagements, he has provided inspiration for other survivors of TBI and their families. He stresses the importance of medicine, therapy, and most importantly family support. Tony has conducted lectures at several colleges and universities across the country such as Texas A&M, Nevada State College, Lamar University, and the University of Wisconsin.
Tony’s efforts have been recognized and awarded by The Dallas Brain Injury Association, The Brain Injury Association of America, Texas A&M University, The Academy of Criminal Justice, and world-renowned motivational speaker Zig Ziglar.
When he’s not studying serial crime, Tony enjoys singing. He is an accomplished Elvis Tribute artist, and he has performed in some of Las Vegas’ most iconic venues such as The MGM Grand. He also volunteers his time going to assisted living facilities in the Las Vegas area and singing for the residents.
