Nine year-old Sarah and her family had just moved to Wayland, Massachusetts when Sarah disappeared while going out for a walk near her home.
Hundreds of volunteers searched in vain for the beautiful blonde, blue eyed little girl, but to no avail.
About thirteen years after her disappearance a bone fragment was found and through DNA it was positively identified as Sarah's.
She was laid to rest on 13 January 1998 on what would have been her 22nd birthday.
